WE NEED YOU!! – Parent Governor Vacancy

At Swanmore College an exciting opportunity has arisen for us to recruit new Parent Governor to support the work of the current Board of Governors and the senior leadership team as we strive to deliver “OUTSTANDING” results for pupils. Any parent, or carer, of a registered pupil at the school is eligible to stand for election as a parent governor.

If you can give up to 3 hours a week in term time (meetings are mainly held on Monday evenings 5 pm -7 pm) and are willing to undertake real work in supporting the College in delivering its targets, then we would love to hear from you.

We are looking for a person with experience and skills to complement existing Board members and could come from a range of areas including but not exclusively health and safety, human resource management and recruitment, careers, finance and accounting, marketing and sales management, performance management, data and statistical analysis, education of young and older people, project management, information services and computing.

First class advice and support are available to you and free training for your new role, which can provide transferable skills for your career development.

If you require any further information. Please e-mail: governors@swanmore-sec.hants.sch.uk and the Chair of Governors – Dennis Gamblin – will be in touch.

Further information for prospective governors is available on the Hampshire County Council website

Should you wish to apply, please email sandra.cox@swanmore-sec.hants.sch.uk for an application form,    which should be completed and returned to the College. If there is more than one applicant to become Parent Governor, it may require an election by parents.

All positions will of course be subject to a vetting process, identity check and enhanced DBS checks as part of our commitment to ensure the safety of the young people and community.
