Google Classroom & BYOD

Dear Parent / Carer(s),

I am writing to thank those of you who came along to the recent information evening for parents and carers on the introduction of G Suite, Google Classrooms and our proposed ideas about a BYOD scheme. It was a pleasure to have an open forum with so many parents engaged in the future of education for their child or children.

For any parents or carers that were unable to make the information evening, I have attached the presentation I showcased for you to have a look through and see the topics discussed. However, I would urge that you discuss with friends or family who attended the open evening in order to get a more detailed idea of the more complex topics that we discussed.

Much of the evening was driven by parental responses, and the results from the two surveys sent previously have been invaluable to myself and the ICT Strategy Group. With this in mind, I will be sending out further surveys looking at:

  • Opinions on Bring Your Own Device specifications
  • Opinions on Bring Your Own Device leasing and purchasing options
  • Opinions on Bring Your Own Device timelines and future schemes
  • Ways of improving information evenings for parents

Hopefully everyone has now been invited to receive “Guardian Summaries” – if this has not worked for you, please feel free to email me. With this in mind, I am not planning on hosting any more information evenings on G Suite or Google Classroom.

I look forward to receiving your thoughts and opinions through the upcoming surveys.

Many thanks,

S Scott (Mr),

ICT Co-ordinator
