Using movement and co-ordination, how can we get better at striking an object? As an opponent, how can we respond to this?
Overview
Using sports such as Badminton, Table Tennis, Rounders and Cricket, we will look at how to improve our movement and co-ordination to strike a ball/object with equipment with consistency and success. How do we score? And as an opponent, how do we prevent this?
Overview
Once we have found space, the final element to an attack is how to create and then convert scoring opportunities. We will therefore look at techniques used in a variety of sports we use to score points. We will then shift focus onto defense, focusing on how we can restrict an attack and win back possession.

Gaining possession from the opposition.
Spatial awareness
Understanding your position (Indivdual and team) and where the opposition and area of play is.
How can we improve our co-ordination and movement to strike equipment effectively?
Overview
Using sports such as Badminton, Table Tennis, Rounders and Cricket, we will look at how our movment and coordination affect our performance and the game scenario. We will also develop tactical knowledge of how best to strike equipment effectively
Example Key Words
Coordination
Ability to use two or more different parts of the body together, smoothly and efficiently.
Movement
The act of changing position or posture.
Kineasthetic
Physical sensations generated by movements are felt by the performer and provide a form of intrinsic feedback.
Timing
Choice, judgement or control of when something should be done.
Aiming
Point or direct towards a target/goal.
How can we use our positions and formations to help defend in numbers?
Overview
After learning how to move forward and penetrate the opposition, we will look at a variety of methods to stop the opposition from attacking
Example Key Words
Formations
The variety of individual positions that contribute to an overall team structure.
Defending in numbers
Having an adequate number of teammates behind play in order to defend effectively.
Zone
The area in which you can play/defend/attack in.
Positions
The individual place for players on a court/pitch/area.
Deny Space
The act of closing down an opponent to restrict the area they can move or execute a skill in/to
How does our agility, balance, dodging and side-stepping help to improve our performance?
Overview
In this unit we will look at how important agility, balance, dodging and side stepping is in a variety of sports. We will focus on how these concepts are important in being able to succeed as an individual or team
