Some facts for you:

  • Unifrog is a universal destinations platform designed to support learners from the age of 11-18 to make informed decisions about their futures in both education and the world of work.
  • All pupils in Y9 will have access to their own account from September 2024 to support option choices. Y9 will also have 1 timetabled Unifrog lesson a week on their timetable.
  • Y11 will have access to their own account by December 2024 to support post-16 applications.
  • Y10 pupils will have access to their Unifrog account by January 2025 to support work experience placements and post-16 applications.
  • Y7 & Y8 pupils will have access to their own Unifrog account by Easter 2025.
  • All parents and carers will have their own login for Unifrog when their child’s account goes live.

 Background

We want pupils to see how all aspects of their life can link together to help them make informed and exciting post-16 choices. Unifrog is a one-stop-shop that enables pupils to explore their own interests, alongside their academic performance, school achievements and experiences outside of school to track, plan and shape future opportunities.

Pupil Voice

Pupils often use surveys to identify that they would like more support to help them understand the decisions they will have to make in the future. Careers, further education and apprenticeship information is always well-received, but pupils would like this to be more frequent and tailored to their individual circumstances and interests. Some pupils have requested additional and more frequent advice to support them moving through key school milestones such as options, work experience and college applications.

Q) The Biggest Challenge

A) Encouraging pupils to interact with Unifrog to support their progress at school.

As a trial for 2024-2025, Y9 pupils will have one Unifrog lesson a week on their timetable, and this will enable them to access the full suite of content available to transition them through the last year of KS3 into KS4. For Y7, Y8, Y10 and Y11, there will be a phased launch to introduce pupils to their accounts, alongside embedding Unifrog into the Careers elements of PSHE sessions. If we can launch Unifrog to all pupils earlier than the proposed phased dates, we will.  You will be informed of our progress with this.

How can you help?

Once you and your child have received your sign-up code, we would love to hear from you about how you and your family are using the package. We will run some parent / carer sessions to introduce content and guidance for how to maximise the impact of Unifrog.  We will also set optional enriching Independent Learning tasks for your child to access – the aim is to upskill and inform your child about how their education fits into their future choices and with your help, we hope to make discussions about destinations the norm.
