Operation Sceptre

Operation Sceptre is a week of action in relation to reducing knife crime, taking place from 13-19 November 2023.  Operation Sceptre was launched in July 2015 by The Metropolitan Police Service with the aim of reducing knife crime and the number of families affected across London. The launch coincided with new legislation that meant those convicted of carrying a knife for the second time will face a mandatory custodial sentence. In 2018 a national approach was launched whereby all Police Forces came together to tackle knife crime. https://news.npcc.police.uk/editorial/operation-sceptre-early-intervention-education-and-enforcement
