Oliver also scored for the College with a fantastic header.
The Year 8 Boys' Football Team started their season on Friday, 10 October, hosting Salesians College in a Hampshire Cup 1st Round tie. Community and Primary School Events
Primary Schools Cross Country Events
We hosted two successful annual Primary Schools Cross Country Events, utilising our rural route.
-
Year 2, 3 & 4 Event: Held on Tuesday, 30 September, this event hosted 13 Primary Schools with a total of 257 students competing. Our Year 10 Sports Leaders were amazing, practising what they are learning on their course by leading and managing the event.
-
Year 5 & 6 Event: Held on Tuesday, 7 October, the conditions were great for the boys' and girls' races, with a total of 311 students competing. This brought the total number of students who competed across our two events over the fortnight to 568—the highest total ever for this Primary event! This was once again made successful by the fantastic support of another group of our Year 10 Sports Leaders, who looked after students and marshalled the course.
Student Shout Out: Annabel (Year 9 Rowing)
A big shout out to Year 9 pupil Annabel for her achievements in Rowing over the Summer. Annabel only started the sport after joining the College but has been very successful, achieving the following:
-
First in the J14 single and first in the J15 double at Dartmouth Regatta.
-
Won the Novice women's single scull race at Itchen Regatta.
-
Won the J14 single scull race at The South Coast Championships.
This is particularly impressive as Annabel was competing in an age category above her own. Keep up the excellent work!
