Equipment

These are items that a pupil will need across the curriculum. Having the right equipment is essential for your child's success in school. By bringing their own supplies each day, they'll be able to participate fully in lessons, avoid distractions, and stay on track with their classmates. This will ensure they have the best possible chance to learn and achieve.

If you are in receipt of Pupil Premium we will be able to offer support with the purchase of equipment and we will contact you separately.

Aprons for Food Technology

Our Food curriculum has been designed to maximise the number of opportunities that pupils have to undertake practical tasks, in order to develop key life skills.  This does mean that there are regularly days when there is a high number of practical lessons taking place.  Due to the number of items that need to be washed and dried following these lessons (oven gloves, tea towels, dishcloths etc.), it is not possible to also wash and dry an apron for every pupil.  Therefore, we are asking parents to provide their child with an apron.  These not only prevent possible cross-contamination of food but also help to protect school uniform from damage and are therefore highly recommended.

Requirements:

  • Year 7, 8 and 9 – These pupils will need an apron that is suitable to be used in a Food Room.  We recommend a simple tie up apron, preferably without a pocket as this tends to catch dirt etc.
  • Year 10 and 11 GCSE Classes – These pupils will also need an apron of their own if they are undertaking GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition.

Aprons will need to be taken home and washed after they have been used.
