The Young Writers' Through Their Eyes Poetry Competition is an annual event aimed at encouraging young poets to express their unique perspectives through poetry. Our Year 7 and 8 pupils picked up their pens and wrote a variety of poems from countless different perspectives!

While the team at Young Writers reads thousands of poems from across the UK, Swanmore College held its own internal competition focusing on the most emotive poems, poems with the best word choice, the most creative perspectives, and the best poem structure. Congratulations to Swanmore's winners:

Most Emotive Poem: Gabrielle (Y8)

Best Word Choice: Astrid (Y8)

Most Creative Perspective: Hayden (Y7)

Best Poem Structure: Jack (Y7)

Also, a huge congratulations to all of our nominees: Ella, Natalie, Lily, Mia, Freddie, Yesya, Seren, Beth, Ava-Jade, Nate, Astrid, Charlie, Hayden, Elsie, Riley, Eden, Ayla, Joseph, Edo, Evie, Jack, Fred, Emily, Lily, Olivia and Ella.
