OFSTED - A message from the Headteacher

Thank you for taking the time to complete our most recent OFSTED Parent Survey and our thanks to your children also for completing the Pupil Survey - your answers and comments are invaluable to OFSTED and to the college. I am sure that you are all wondering what the judgement is, however, the decision must go through a moderation process and will remain confidential until we receive the outcome letter from OFSTED, which is likely to be just before the Summer Holidays. All I can say is, they are not coming back for a while and the inspection is over. What an amazing group of staff, pupils, Governors and supportive parents/carers we have, and that week reminded us of this. Our pupils are wonderful, and I am so proud to be Headteacher of such a fantastic school.

Pupils are being rewarded with a 'Token of our appreciation' and will be receiving a biscuit/flapjack/brownie at break or lunch over the coming days as follows:

Y10 - 06.06.23

Y9 - 07.05.23

Y8 - 08.05.23

Y7 - 09.05.23

Y11 - 12.05.23

Blazers

During this warmer weather, blazers are not required to be worn. However, if a pupil is cold and wishes to wear something on top of their shirt/blouse, then it must be a blazer.  They may wear their jumper also, should they so wish, but not instead of their blazer. Please remind pupils to bring their bus pass, proud card and any other equipment which is usually kept in their blazer. Shirts should be tucked in, and proud cards will be ticked if this is not the case.

Water Bottles

Please ensure your child has a refillable drinks bottle with them when they come to college, as it is essential that they stay hydrated in this warm weather. We are seeing an increasing number of pupils requesting cups and we do not have enough to keep supplying them. Thank you for your support.

Buses

Pupils are only permitted to travel on the bus for which they have a Hampshire County bus pass. They are not insured to travel on any other Swanmore College bus service. If your child is going home with a friend, they will need to be collected from the college and taken there if they do not hold the same bus pass as their friend. Alternatively, they can get a public bus or use the free late bus service.

2023 Junior Photography Competition
Please find attached details of the Bishops Waltham Photographic Society 2023 Junior Photography Competition. We have had some very good images submitted by our pupils in the past and hope they will wish to participate again this year.

Administration of Paracetamol

Please can we remind you that Paracetamol will only be provided to your child during lunch breaks (12.40 - 13.10) and only if we have received the signed consent form. The form can be found within the attached policy. It is extremely important that you complete and return the consent form prior to your child possibly requiring Paracetamol. Paper copies of the consent form are available at Pupil Reception, so your child can collect one if you do not have access to a printer.
