Overview
This scheme of work explores politics, present and past, with a focus on speeches. Through studying the music of Hamilton, pupils develop their knowledge of different political and legal systems and apply characterisation in a new context

The process of examining how drama, literary, technical and performance elements are used.
Artistic Intention
Refers to the decisions made by theatre makers to communicate deeper meaning through their work. Without an artistic intention a piece of drama lacks a purpose or a message for its intended audience.
Character Motivation
The reason behind a character’s behaviour and actions in a given scene.
Effect
An event or a moment intended to create a particular emotional reaction.
Monologue
When one solitary character speaks to the audience and shares their feelings or point of view.
