Overview

Learning advanced sheet metal working techniques.
Developing Computer Aided Design skills, in order to draw accurately using the 2D drawing package.

Example keywords:

C.A.D – Computer Aided Design This is the process of using a computer to do your drawings.  These drawings can then be sent to a Laser Cutter or 3D Printer to make your design.

C.A.M – Computer Aided Manufacture

This is a process where a machine cuts out or prints the design that you have made on the computer using C.A.D software.

Pop Rivet

This is a method of joining sheet metal together in a semi-permanent way.

Forging

This is a process where a material is shaped using pressure.  This can either be done with heat (hot forging) or without (cold forging).

Template

An object that is used to draw around to mark out a shape.  These can be premade, or custom made out of card.

Prototype

This is a first version of a device or product from which other forms are developed.
