Young Carers Non-Uniform Day – Wednesday 12 March 2025

Did you know an estimated 1 in 5 pupils in every classroom could be defined as a Young Carer?

Young Carers Action Day is on Wednesday 12 March and this year's theme is 'Give me a Break'. This is an annual event that raises awareness of the challenges faced by young carers. The day also calls for more support for young carers. 

In light of this, we have decided to support the charity Winchester Young Carers by hosting a non-uniform day at Swanmore College on Wednesday 12 March for all pupils (no short tops/shorts/skirts please).

We would like to ask that pupils either make a donation of £1 via SCOPAY or bring in £1 cash to donate during tutor.

Art Department Notice – Thursday 13 March 2025

KS3 Art Club and KS4 GCSE Art and Photography drop-in session will be cancelled next Thursday, 13 March 2025 due to the Year 9 parents’ evening.

KS4 Art and Photography drop-in will be on as usual on Tuesday, 11 March 2025.

Literacy Week – Readathon

As part of our literacy week events, we are hosting a sponsored Readathon to raise money for children in hospital. Pupils in Year 7-9 have all been given a sponsor card and are encouraged to set themselves a challenge to read a number of pages, chapters, books, or for a particular length of time. Fraudulent Coupons

We have been advised by a local supermarket that there are several fraudulent coupons circulating on TikTok and Discord – see attached image for an example. These have not been issued by the shops or manufacturers and children could get in trouble if they try to use them to purchase goods in store.
