All Pupils
End of Term Early Closure – Friday 04 April 2025
The college will close early tomorrow, Friday 04 April, with pupils leaving at 12:40 pm. Our transport operators have been informed and will be on site to collect pupils at this time. Please note that any pupils who travel on the 649 Stagecoach public bus service will need to make alternative arrangements for getting home early, as Stagecoach are unable to amend the collection time from 3.00 pm to 12.40 pm.
Professional Day – Tuesday 22 April 2025
Reminder that the college will be closed on Tuesday 22 April as this is a professional day. We will re-open to pupils on Wednesday 23 April, after the Easter break.
Enrichment – Summer 2025
Your child’s enrichment group for next term has been allocated and will be confirmed on School Buddy shortly. Once done, each pupil’s ClassCharts will be updated during the Easter break to reflect their new timetable for the Wednesday afternoon. If pupils are unsure on their return on Wednesday 23 April which activity they are in, there will be a printed list posted in the Swan Café for them to see. If a pupil is still unsure of their activity on their return after Easter and they selected a sports-based Enrichment as one of their five choices, pupils can wear school PE kit on the first day to ensure they can take part in the activity allocated to them. If none of the options chosen were sports based, please wear school uniform as normal.
Pupils who unfortunately failed to make the required choices for the Summer Term Enrichment session have been allocated one based on the choices they have entered in previous rounds of Enrichment. This was done once all other pupils were allocated their choices. We ask all pupils to attend the activity allocated to them for the first week.
Once the first session is complete, pupils will have the opportunity to request an activity change, should they need to, by completing a change request form at pupil reception during first or second break. Once a request has been made, we will do our best to accommodate the change asked for. This will of course depend on the numbers already taking part, the changes requested by other pupils and staffing available for each activity. Once a change has been made, the pupil involved will receive a new printed timetable via their tutor wallet reflecting their new activity. We cannot make changes until after Wednesday 23 April as we are unable to update registers, and class lists in time to allow us to ensure all pupils are present during the first session. Requested changes can then be made in the two weeks following this date.
If you have any questions, please contact enrichment-help@swanmore-sec.hants.sch.uk and I will do my best to help on our return after the Easter break.
The Learning Hub
Following extensive consultation and feedback from parents, pupils and staff voice, as well as a review of the current process, we will be trialling some new procedures in the Learning Hub after the Easter holiday. This trial will run throughout the Summer Term, at which point, we will review its success. If the trial proves effective, we will consider updating our Behaviour Policy accordingly. Full details of the changes have been emailed to all parents/carers today and can also be found on the website here: Swanmore School - The Learning Hub
