The Hampshire & IOW Office of The Police & Crime Commissioner’s Youth Commission are recruiting for new members!

The Youth Commission is a diverse group of young people aged 14 to 25, from across Hampshire and the IOW, who represent the voice of young people on police and crime matters. They gather and represent the views of young people at a number of local and national strategic level meetings, attend events, create youth-led campaigns and projects and help to shape policing in the area. They are looking for applicants to join the Youth Commission 2025. Please see their website for further information:

The link for the online application form is below:

Applications close on 28 February 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for young people to be heard.

Parking

We would like to remind you to be respectful of our neighbours when parking on New Road and the local side roads in the surrounding area please. Driveways should be left clear to allow residents to exit their driveways and do not park on pavements or in unsafe places. Please remember that Rule 243 of the highway code states that vehicles should not stop or park:

  • anywhere you would prevent access for Emergency Services
  • opposite or within 10 metres (32 feet) of a junction, except in an authorised parking space
  • in front of an entrance to a property
  • on a bend

To do so is to endanger the lives of our pupils, who sometimes have to walk in the middle of a busy country road to walk around the parked cars, as there is no pavement. Please consider this when choosing where to park.

Dance Live 2025

Yesterday, over 90 pupils from our Dance Live enrichment group took to the stage at Portsmouth Guildhall to compete against other local schools and colleges in the first heat of Dance Live 2025. The children all performed superbly, and the judges awarded them first place! As winners of their heat, they will now progress to the Finals in April where they will compete again against all the other heat winners from around the country. Huge congratulations to all the pupils and staff involved. Photos are available on our website: Swanmore School - Dance Live 2025 Heat Winners!
