Bus Passes

Please ensure all pupils carry their bus pass with them every day and show these to the bus driver when they board their service.

Parent Help with PSHE Events

We are still looking for parents or relatives who are interested in talking about their career journey with our young people. It does not matter if you have taken part in this before. The talks are primarily on a Tuesday morning from 8.30 - 9.40 am and would be during our whole school PSHE sessions.

The first session is on Tuesday 12 November 2024 and would be with tutor groups in Year 9. The tutor would be supervising the group throughout the session.

If this is something you feel you would like to be involved in, please contact Mrs Illsley via careers-help@swanmore-sec.hants.sch.uk. There is no need to respond if you have already contacted us this term as we have saved your response. If you are unable to help on this occasion but would like to be considered for another session, then please do also let us know. 

Free Sanitary Products

We have a variety of free sanitary products available in school. Pupils are welcome to come and get whatever they need during break times from:

•    Welfare Office
•    Pupil Reception
•    The Pupil Centre

Please encourage your child(ren) to make full use of this free service.

Year 10

Barton Peveril College is hosting a 2025 Year 10 Summer Open Event. While tickets for this event will not be available until later in the new year, students and parents/carers are invited to register their interest in advance. Year 11

College Application Deadlines

We have contacted all the local colleges and asked for their application deadlines. Most have responded to our request but not all. Please see details below:

• Barton Peveril – Friday 14 February 2025
• Havant and South Downs – applications should be made by Christmas
• Itchen – apply before May 2025
• Peter Symonds – Monday 09 December 2024 at 11pm
• Sparsholt – No deadline given but need to apply asap
• St Vincent – no official deadline, advised to apply asap
• Richard Taunton Sixth Form – Recommend you apply by February 2025
• City of Portsmouth Colleges – No official deadline but recommend applications for their Sixth Form college are submitted by the end of February 2025
• South Hampshire Colleges Group – No deadline given but need to apply asap
• UTC Portsmouth – Friday 10 January 2025

All the colleges we contacted have advised that pupils should apply as soon as possible. Pupils can apply for as many different colleges as they like and then decide later which place to accept.
