Young Carers – Silver Award

We are very pleased to announce that Swanmore College have been granted the Young Carers Silver Award by The Children’s Society, for the work we do with our young carers.

Miss Gregory and Miss Primmer run a young carers session every Friday during tutor. This session gives pupils a chance to get to know other young carers in the school. We provide a free breakfast and provide fun activities for pupils who attend the sessions.

If you believe your child is a young carer, please contact your child’s Deputy Head of Year/Tutor who can refer you to the Young Carers team.

Free Remote Counselling for 8 – 21 year olds

We wish to inform you of a FREE, remote (phone or online video)
charity-funded counselling service called ‘Stop Breathe Think.’ The
service offers counselling to all 8 – 21 year olds and responds to all
referrals within 24hrs, with no waiting lists.

Stop Breathe Think was launched in Nov 2020 in response to the pandemic
and in just one year, 810 young people have received counselling support
and we’ve delivered 4878 counselling sessions in total.
