In Year 10, pupils study a diverse range of topics, with an increased use of the target language driving their development of a wider and more specific vocabulary. Pupils are introduced to our GCSE by exploring meaningful examples of icons, symbols, and personalities that shine a light on the cultural complexities of the French/Spanish speaking world. This further embeds our vision for pupils to become Linguists for Life.

In Year 11 our ever more confident pupils continue to master the skills and fluency of their chosen language. Through careful study of the subtleties of grammar rules and spcialised vocabulary, pupils exhibit the embedded qualities of linguists for life. Topics in Year 11 include themes of employment and living arrangements, as well as festivals. These further prepare and excite our students for their potential experiences in studying languages in Higher education with a year abroad, or travelling and working abroad in their future careers and holidays.
