Strike Day 16.03.23

Dear Parent/Carer

Tomorrow there is a second planned strike by the NEU. We have been made aware that more members of staff will be absent from College than we had originally anticipated and the decision has therefore been made to not have any face-to-face lessons for any year groups.

Therefore, all children must remain at home on Thursday 16 March. Live lessons will be provided online by non-striking teachers.

If there is no live lesson for your child on Google Classroom, please find attached some options that they can select. These have also been sent to your child’s Google Classroom account. Year 11s can use the time to continue with their exam revision if they do not have a live online lesson.

The only exception to above is if your child is due to attend the Red Spider trip. In this case, we will require pupils to either be dropped at Swanmore College for 11:40am, so we are able to take them on the minibus, or they can meet us at the centre for 12:10pm. If you are dropping your child at college, you will need to pick them up at 2pm when we return. If you are taking your child directly to the centre, they will need picking up at 1:30pm.

Apologies for the inconvenience but it will be back to normal on Friday.
